Children’s Hospital

Children’s Hospital of Alabama is one of the nation’s busiest pediatric medical centers and the only hospital in Alabama dedicated exclusively to children’s care. Located in downtown Birmingham, the hospital expanded its campus with the 700,000-square-foot Benjamin Russell Hospital, a $435 million, environmentally conscious facility made possible in part by a $25 million+ gift from Benjamin Russell.

As part of this completed expansion, Method-1’s WallArmor was installed throughout the hospital to enhance durability, wayfinding, and the patient experience. WallArmor surrounds 266 patient rooms and 133 nurses’ stations, with themed designs—animals, nature, fine arts, space, transportation, and sports—paired with coordinating canopies and floor-specific color palettes. Installation was completed in phases across all six floors as construction progressed.
