The Challenge: High Traffic, High Stakes In early 2015, the Montgomery Regional Airport prepared for a historic influx of visitors arriving for the 50th anniversary of the Selma march. The baggage claim—the first touchpoint for every traveler—needed more than just a facelift; it required a complete environmental transformation that could withstand the relentless punishment of heavy luggage, carts, and high-volume foot traffic.
The Solution: Integrated Branding & Architectural Armor Method-1 engineered a high-impact arrival experience by wrapping structural columns in custom-branded graphics and deploying expansive mural maps highlighting Montgomery’s iconic landmarks.
Utilizing WallArmor™, we didn’t just “decorate” the space—we armored it. This innovative, high-performance surface allowed for vibrant, floor-to-ceiling visual storytelling while providing a bulletproof barrier against the daily wear and tear of a major transportation hub.
The Result: A Lasting First Impression The redesigned baggage claim serves as a powerful welcome to the city, blending sophisticated interior design with industrial-grade durability. The unique and collaborative Learning Lounge branded environment invites team members to connect, learn and recharge in an inspiring environment. The cafe, interactive classrooms and Learning and Development Office Suite reflect Fortera’s passionate mission to Do. Better. Together.
Throughout the branded environment, curated environmental graphics support wayfinding as well as moments of exploration and surprise. Graphics, seating and lighting are used to create smaller ‘destinations’ within the space, such as the striking waterfall wood plank wall adorning the hospitality area, creating a focal point while providing a place to gather and relax.
